Capstone Project & Policy Pitch Showcase

Fellows will present their policy briefs and complete a capstone project utilizing PollSensei for primary data collection. As a key requirement, all participants must commit to submitting a manuscript to a reputable international Q1 or Q2 journal with an impact factor of at least 2.5.

Please note: Certificate issuance is conditional upon the submission of this manuscript. All submissions will be evaluated by the ORIF Board for quality and relevance.

Dr. Chukwuka Monyei (USA and United Kingdom)

About Dr. Chukwuka

Dr. Chukwuka Monyei is an accomplished researcher and technology executive whose expertise lies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI), climate finance, and decarbonization. With over 1,000 citations on Google Scholar, his research and innovations continue to shape global discussions on sustainable energy systems and data-driven climate solutions.
He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, an M.Sc. in Electronics and Electrical Engineering (Distinction) from the University of Leeds, UK, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Dr. Monyei has served as a Research Fellow at the University of Sussex (UK) and as an Associate Editor for Elsevier. He currently leads as Group CEO of Escrow-Tech, operating across Bristol and California, and serves as Director at Oaks Intelligence, where he drives innovation in AI-enabled products, research and data analytics.
Renowned for bridging academic rigor with real-world scalability, Dr. Monyei continues to advance transformative applications of AI and machine learning for climate resilience, energy transition, and sustainable development.

Dr.  Peter Poopola (South Africa)

About Dr. Peter

Dr. Peter Popoola holds a PhD in Computer Science with a specialization in Machine Learning, focusing on health monitoring applications. He is an expert in clustering, machine learning, handling missing data, operations research, and nature-inspired algorithms. A seasoned scholar and published author, Peter is also the product owner of PollSensei and WhizToonz, and serves as MD/CEO of Oaks Intelligence, where he drives AI innovation and strategic product development.
Peter has lectured at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and is recognized globally for his expertise in AI applications, research, prompt engineering, and digital solutions. A gifted mentor, he has trained emerging professionals and guided teams in applying AI for real-world impact, blending research rigor with entrepreneurial vision.

Timothy Imanobe Oliomogbe (Nigeria)

About Mr. Timothy

Timothy Imanobe Oliomogbe is a Research and Development Specialist, Water and Wastewater Treatment Engineer, and Data Science Innovator. He has led transformative projects in environmental engineering, AI-driven predictive modeling, and sustainable water solutions, managing initiatives valued over 1 billion Naira. Timothy has served as resource person for UNICEF, international NGOs, and government agencies to drive evidence-based policy and operational excellence.
He holds a Bachelors degree in Energy and Petroleum, an M.Sc. in Petroleum and Environmental Technology (Water and Wastewater Treatment Engineering), and an IBM International Certificate in Quantum Computing. A published author and peer reviewer, he is also an editorial board member for Tinta Emas Journal and a member of multiple professional engineering and safety organizations. He has mentored over 300 students across Nigeria in data and statistical analysis and trained over 100 research assistants in digital data collection and questionnaire administration.

About Mr. Zakari

Zakari Isiaka Osheku is a seasoned Public Health Expert, Health Economist, Researcher, and Medical Microbiologist recognized globally for his work in health system strengthening. His expertise spans Primary Health Care, Human Resources for Health, Market Shaping, Health Financing, and Infectious Diseases. He has led projects for UNICEF across Nigeria and worked with other international agencies. He holds five advanced degrees—M.Sc. Public Health, M.Sc. Medical Microbiology, M.Sc. Health Economics, MBA, and Executive MBA—and is a Powell Sustainability Impact Scholar (USD 10,000). Through his Community Health Champions Fellowship, he has mentored 900+ healthcare professionals across Africa on public health and AI-driven community engagement, while actively teaching and researching infectious disease epidemiology.

About Mr. Shaba

Shaba Williams Mamman is a statistician and data analyst with experience on projects for the National Bureau of Statistics, UNICEF, and other development partners. He specializes in surveys, digital data collection tools, governance perception studies, and risk analysis, and has trained over 200 research assistants in AI-powered and digital data collection tools. Proficient in Power BI, Looker Studio, Stata, KoboCollect, and ArcGIS, Williams is skilled in transforming data into practical insights. He holds a Master’s in Statistics and Data Analysis from the Nigerian Defence Academy.

Adeleye Wisdom Oluwaseyi (Nigeria)

About Mr. Adeleye

Adeleye Wisdom Oluwaseyi is a dedicated academic, researcher, and security professional from Nigeria with expertise in Criminology, Intelligence, and Security Studies.
He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Security Studies from Salem University, Lokoja in 2017, and later earned a Master of Science in Intelligence and Security Studies from Novena University in 2022. His master’s thesis, titled “Multiple Security Cooperation and Curtailment of Insecurity in Nigeria: A Case Study of Konshisha Local Government Area, Benue State,” explored collaborative frameworks for addressing local and national security challenges.
He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Intelligence and Security Studies at Novena University, continuing his research into the evolving dynamics of security in Nigeria.
His research interests include terrorism, counter-terrorism, intelligence and counter-intelligence, forensic science, and crime behavior analysis. Wisdom’s commitment to scholarly advancement is reflected in his active participation in academic conferences and his publication of several peer-reviewed research papers in the field.

Karina Victory Layowolo is an accomplished researcher in Industrial Chemistry with a profound commitment to sustainable environmental solutions. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, a Master’s degree in Industrial Chemistry, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, reflecting her strong foundation in both scientific research and pedagogy.
Her research expertise centers on research design, adsorption technologies for wastewater treatment using biosorbents, where she explores innovative, eco-friendly materials for efficient pollutant removal. Karina has authored peer-reviewed journal articles, contributing to the advancement of environmental chemistry and industrial process optimization. In academia, she plays an integral role in lecturering, supervising undergraduate projects, and assisting with analytical data interpretation, fostering a culture of scientific inquiry and precision among students.
